Andijan and the United States sign agreements on scientific and educational cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A delegation led by Shukhratbek Abdurakhmonov, the governor of Andijan region, is on a working visit to the United States.
The primary goal of the trip is to strengthen partnerships that contribute to the region’s socio-economic development, attract investment, and launch joint projects in education and science.
As part of the visit, the delegation held meetings with the leadership of U.S. universities — Virginia Commonwealth, Ball, and Syracuse — where agreements were signed on academic exchange, scientific cooperation, and joint educational programs.
Talks were also held with logistics companies UGL and UMT Global, resulting in agreements on training qualified personnel. During a meeting with Zafar Akhmedov, a senior software engineer at Microsoft, discussions focused on employment opportunities for young specialists from the region and the implementation of joint projects.
The visit is aimed at expanding Andijan region’s international cooperation in education, the economy, logistics, information technology, and innovation.
