An Eco-Tourism Complex to Be Built in Surkhandarya for 140 Billion Soums
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In Kumkurgan district of Surkhandarya region, a 15.7-hectare eco-tourism complex is planned on the territory of the South Surkhan Reservoir, according to the regional hokimiyat press service.
The total cost of the project is estimated at 140 billion soums. Its implementation will include measures for environmental protection, creation of new green zones, construction of roads and infrastructure in compliance with ecological standards, and the installation of a wastewater treatment system.
The regional hokim reviewed the revised project, prepared taking into account suggestions and recommendations, and following a site inspection, instructed that construction work be organized systematically and in stages, starting as soon as possible while fully complying with all established requirements.
Additionally, the prospect of creating a reinforced concrete production cluster was discussed, based on unused buildings previously owned by LLC “Surkhan Kombinati” and currently held by commercial banks. It was decided to put these properties up for auction with clear conditions regarding the project and investment obligations.
