All resident airlines operating domestic flights to receive subsidies
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A government resolution titled "Additional Measures to Improve Regional Air Transportation and Support Domestic Tourism" has been adopted.
According to the resolution, changes have been made to the composition of the special commission responsible for approving special airfares and establishing subsidy amounts for subsidized air routes.
The resolution also extends the existing tariffs and subsidy amounts currently applied to domestic routes by Uzbekistan Airways to all resident airlines operating domestic flights.
As a result, all registered carriers in the country will be able to sell tickets for domestic routes at the established tariffs and apply for subsidies from the Ministry of Transport at the end of each month, according to the form approved by the Ministry of Transport's Order No. 188 from 14 October 2021.
It is important to note that the domestic air transportation subsidy system was introduced on 1 June 2021, and will remain in effect until 1 January 2026.
