All Charter Flights from Tashkent to Be Transferred to New "Tashkent-East" Airport

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — All charter flights departing from and arriving in Tashkent will soon be transferred to the new “Tashkent-East” Airport. This was announced by Shukhrat Khudoykulov, Chairman of the Board of Uzbekistan Airways, in an interview with the “Uzbekistan 24” television channel.

According to Khudoykulov, “Tashkent-East” will become the first airport in Uzbekistan to meet ICAO’s Category III-A standards. This classification means the facility will be capable of handling takeoffs and landings around the clock, in all weather conditions, 365 days a year.

Currently, more than 10 charter flights operate from Tashkent’s international airport. However, once “Tashkent-East” is operational, these flights will be handled at the new facility. The airport is also designed to accommodate business aviation, featuring a dedicated terminal with a capacity of up to 100 passengers per hour.

“This is the first airport in the country specifically focused on servicing business aviation. The President has emphasized the importance of developing this segment,” Khudoykulov noted.

One of the key advantages of the airport will be its ability to receive and accommodate up to 23 large aircraft simultaneously, including Boeing 747s. Additionally, thanks to modern navigation systems and advanced infrastructure, there will be no need to reroute flights to other regions in case of adverse weather conditions.

The launch of the new airport is expected in the near future.
