Acwa Power and L&T seek local partners in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A delegation consisting of John Zaidi, Regional Director of the Saudi energy company Acwa Power, Rajan Bansal, Head of CIS countries at the Indian company L&T Construction, as well as representatives of Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Energy, visited the electrical industry enterprises "Enter Steel" and "Technopark".
The primary goal of the visit was to explore opportunities for localizing the supply of electrical equipment and materials needed for the implementation of solar power plant projects financed by Acwa Power and carried out by L&T Construction in Uzbekistan. In particular, the parties discussed prospects for sourcing locally produced power transmission line poles, metal structures, and other electrical products.
The delegation members familiarized themselves with the production capacities of the enterprises, technological processes, product quality, and compliance with international standards. The visit also included discussions on technical requirements, terms of cooperation, and possible forms of partnership.
This visit marked an important step toward integrating Uzbek-made products into international renewable energy projects and opened new opportunities for enhancing the export potential of the country’s electrical engineering industry.
