Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- "The adoption of the Bukhara Declaration is clear evidence that Uzbekistan fully shares and actually implements the principles previously reflected in the declarations adopted in Marrakech, Mecca, Jakarta, Washington, Punto del Este," said the Director of ISMI Eldor Aripov, speaking on 19 May at the international forum "Dialogue of Declarations" in Bukhara.
Moreover, as the head of the ISMI emphasized, the Bukhara Declaration reflects not only the basic principles of all other declarations, but also the rich political and legal experience of Uzbekistan, together with the religious and philosophical heritage of the Uzbek people.
Sharing his views on the development of this document, E. Aripov recalled that the views of all domestic and foreign experts were taken into account in the preparation of the Bukhara Declaration. In particular, specialists from research centers of Uzbekistan, including the International Islamic Academy, the Center for Islamic Civilization, the centers of Imam Bukhari, Termizi and Maturudi, were involved in the work. Experts from Central and South Asia, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Europe and America were also involved in the development process.
Participation in the preparation of the Bukhara Declaration of a wide range of representatives from various countries of the world, according to the director of ISMI, is evidence of the recognition by the international community of the effectiveness of the policy pursued by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the field of ensuring freedom of religion, as well as the important contribution of our country to the promotion of the ideas of religious tolerance on a global scale .
The international forum is organized by ISMI jointly with the Institute for Global Engagement (USA) with the support of the Committee on Religious Affairs under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the University of World Economy and Diplomacy, the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan, the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the khokimiyats of Samarkand and Bukhara regions. The forum brought together prominent religious scholars, theologians, jurists and officials from Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Africa and the USA.
