About 55 objects privatized in Uzbekistan in 1H 2010

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Some 54 enterprises and objects were privatized in Uzbekistan in the first six months of 2010, the State Property Committee of Uzbekistan said.
Largest number of objects was privatized in Tashkent city (37% of total privatized objects in Uzbekistan), Tashkent and Khorezm regions (11.1% each), Andijan region (9.3%), Surkhandarya region (7.4%), Bukhara and Ferghana regions (5.6% each).
Largest share of privatized objects fell to share of local administrations’ property (51.8%), Ministry of Agriculture and Water Management (18.5%), Uzbekyengilsanoat state joint stock company (5.6%), Finance Ministry, Health Ministry and Science Academy (3.7% each).
Uzbekistan received 10.6 billion soums from privatization and denationalization in the reporting period, the committee noted.
About 48.2% of received funds came from privatization and denationalization from Tashkent city, 18.1% - Ferghana region, 13% - Tashkent region, 5.2% - Bukhara region and 2.8% - Navoi region (3.4%).
